3 Austin favorites land on list of America's 100 best places to eat
Three Austin dining favorites are in the national spotlight once again, this time on an all-important list of the Top 100 Places to Eat in America.
Franklin Barbecue, Uchi, and Uchiko are featured on Yelp's annual bucket list, which is based on the number of positive reviews from Yelp users around the country. Yelp upped the ante this year and combed through more than a decade's worth of reviews to determine the 100 top restaurants for 2016. (The 2015 list was based on reviews from only that year.)
Franklin Barbecue surges to the No. 8 spot — up from No. 56 in 2015. And we can't disagree: Even New York Times is crushing on Aaron Franklin's phenomenal barbecue.
Uchi and Uchiko come in at Nos. 59 and 97. These staples of the restaurant scene aren't short on accolades either — they've been collectively called the best sushi destination in the country.
Joining the Capital City destinations are two other Texas hot spots: Kenny's Wood Fired Grill in Dallas (No. 48) and Chama Gaúcha Brazilian Steakhouse in Houston (No. 75).
