The 5 best beer events to celebrate Craft Beer Week in Austin
With such a thriving craft beer scene, it's no surprise that Austin has a plethora of fun events, special tappings and new releases during American Craft Beer Week, May 11-17.
Here are a few of our favorite events to celebrate delicious brews this week.
Beer and Ice Cream Pairing
Indulge your sweet tooth with a visit to Hopfields on Monday, May 11 for an ice cream party with Lick and Austin Beerworks. We're talking parings such as Beerwokrs' Black Thunder with the amazing Toffee Dunked Donut and the Templar Knights with Caramel Salt Lick.
Beer and Cheese
Independence Brewing Co. is hosting a variety of events throughout the week. On Tuesday, head to the brewery for a special shindig featuring beer pairings with artisanal cheese from Antonelli's. You'll get a cheesy, hoppy tasting for $25, but the taproom will be open so you can enjoy some extra brews, too.
Bikes, Brewery & Barton Springs
Add some Bike Month fun to your American Craft Beer Week with a sunny ride. Meet up at the ABGB for a brewery tour and then bike with your fellow beer-loving friends to Barton Springs for a free swim on Thursday, May 14.
Hops & Grain Happy Hour
On Friday, swing by Star Bar for a Craft Beer Week happy hour featuring special tappings of Hops & Grain brews. And if you need a morning pick-me-up, don't forget that Hops & Grain has expanded its taproom hours and now serves coffee beginning at 8 am.
Rogness Brewing Company Third Anniversary Party
The North Austin brewery is celebrating its third birthday on Saturday, May 16 with 14 different beers on tap. Two delicious food trucks — The Ginger Armadillo and Smokey Denmark's — will also be on hand serving up unique dishes incorporating Rogness stellar brews.
