Beer garden and pizza parlor fires up 2 new Austin-area locations
One of suburban Austin’s most popular restaurant groups is making moves in the city core. On August 5, TC4 announced it will open Tony C’s Pizza and Beer Garden at 2900 W. Anderson Ln. in early 2020.
The group, which operates The League Kitchen & Tavern, also announced it will open a location of the eatery in Round Rock in spring 2020 but did not divulge the address.
The new concept is an expansion of Tony C’s, a popular pizza joint currently operating in far North Austin near Avery Ranch and Bee Cave. According to a release, it will be a casual experience focusing on classic Italian-American cuisine and bright interiors from local firm Design Hound.
Tony C’s signature coal-fired pizzas get top billing, but the restaurant will serve a full menu of appetizers, pastas, and salads. Many of the dishes were adapted from original 1949 recipes first used at co-owner Tony Ciola’s great-uncle’s restaurant in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Highlights of the menu include classic appetizers like stromboli and meatballs, crowd-pleasing salads like a Caesar and an Italian chopped, and red-sauce mains like lasagna and baked ziti. Acclaimed food truck Dolce Bacio will supply gelato for dessert.
For drinks, Tony C’s will offer more than 20 local craft beers on draft. A selection of Italian wines — sold by the glass or carafe — will round out the menu.
The new beer garden concept will also allow the restaurant to accommodate larger crowds, and menu items will be available family-style to promote conviviality.
“We’re especially looking forward to cultivating a social atmosphere and welcoming bigger crowds for both celebrations and casual get togethers,” said Ciola via release.
