Hill Country festival blends 26 Texas wineries with live music

Texas Wine Jam is returning to Johnson City this November.
Fall's frenetic festival season doesn't have to mean long lines and punishing prices. Austinites looking for a less maddening experience can head to Johnson City's Texas Wine Jam on November 1 to soak in the communal vibes and plenty of small-town Hill Country charm.
The fifth annual event, organized by local winery Vinovium, combines tastings from popular Hill Country vineyards and tunes from local musicians. In the past, this event was spread out over several days, but this year it is condensed to a jam-packed day downtown between Avenue G and Memorial Park.
This year’s lineup showcases 26 standout Texas wineries, including 12 Fires Winery & Vineyard, Adega Vinho, Bingham Family Vineyards, Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa, Elisa Christopher Wines, and more. The Vanishing Bees will headline the music stage, with more acts to be announced.
In partnership with advocacy nonprofit Texas Wine Growers, the Wine Jam will also offer attendees a chance to engage in educational sessions that highlight the work of Texas growers and winemakers. Guests can meet and network with winemakers, learning more about the craft and culture of Texas wine.
If guests find a favorite wine during the event, they can stock up by visiting a ring toss booth, where they can win an extra bottle after buying six.
Proceeds also support the growing Texas wine industry by benefiting the Texas Wine Community Scholarship Fund, earmarked for students pursuing education, internships, and research in local viticulture and enology. A portion of the sales will also support local families affected by the July 4 floods.
The action takes place noon to 5 pm on November 1. General admission tickets range from $65-$75, with VIP ticket holders receiving early entry.
