KUTX brings new music series to Paramount and Stateside Theatres
KUTX, 98.9 FM, is only a few months old, but the all-music public radio station broadcasting from the heart of UT already has big plans for 2013.
Starting on April 6, KUTX will launch a new music series recording live from the two of Austin’s most prestigious venues. Christened KUTX Live at Stateside and Paramount, the partnership will allow more fans and listeners of KUTX to personally experience some of their favorite, world-class artists regularly featured on the drive to work.
Paramount Theatre Executive Director Jim Ritts expressed his pleasure with the new collaboration, stating in a press release that “KUTX has such an important impact on the city’s musical landscape, and we’re thrilled to provide our venues that will allow them to bring you all some moving and exciting programming.”
Programmers of the live series are already off to an exciting start. Hometown favorite Kat Edmonson will headline the inaugural evening on April 6, and jazz pianist Brad Mehldau will join with singer/mandolin virtuoso Chris Thile in a rare performance featuring both musicians on April 20.
Announcements for future performers will arrive in the near future, but music aficionados can expect six or more shows over the course of the next six months. Regular donors and members of KUTX and the Paramount will also enjoy access to preferred seating and benefits when the series kicks off.
Tickets are on sale now; Texas music fans shouldn’t delay in becoming a part of a new Live Music Capital tradition.
