Star team brings popular 24-hour restaurant to trendy North Austin
A 24-hour favorite is coming to North Austin. 24 Diner announced that it will open a second location in Rock Rose, the trendy new development at Domain Northside.
Elm Restaurant Group, the team behind 24 Diner, Easy Tiger, Italic, and Irene's, plans to open the new spot by summer 2017.
"We have always had the goal of expansion for 24 Diner in the back of our minds," said Elm principal Bob Gillett in a statement. "We love the energy and accessibility of the Rock Rose location, so when the opportunity arose, we felt it was the perfect next step to putting that plan in motion. We are very excited about being a part of this new and vibrant community."
24 Diner at Rock Rose will be similar to the original location, with the same all-day menu crafted by chef Andrew Curren and drinks from Elm's beverage director Craig Collins. The major difference is the size — the new locale will be able to accommodate 180 diners in 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space. Designing the space is Lake Flato Architects, the acclaimed San Antonio firm behind Hotel San Jose and the Harry Ransom Center.
Elm certainly will be busy over the next year. The group is opening a second Easy Tiger in North Central Austin and a new concept at the Fareground dining hall downtown.
