Forget barbecue: Austin has just received a top accolade for our fine dining scene. In a roundup of the best fine dining restaurants for TripAdvisor's annual Traveler's Choice Awards, Uchi takes the No. 4 spot in the country, beating out impressive, big-name eateries.

TripAdvisor used an algorithm that looked at both the quantity and quality of reviews on the site to determine the rankings. French and American cuisines dominated the list, as did restaurants from New York City.

Among a sea of typical fine dining fare, Uchi's modern take on Japanese tradition shines. The Austin restaurant earned the top rating of "Excellent" from most TripAdvisor users for the culinary spread as well as the service and ambience.

Along with 24 other renowned chefs, Uchi's Tyson Cole shared a recipe with TripAdvisor for one of his unique dishes. Home chefs brave enough to try their hand at one of Cole's creations can attempt the Yokai Berry with salmon, Asian pear, blueberries, and blanched kale.

Pappas Bros. Steakhouse in Houston ranked No. 10. Meat is the name of the game at this classy eatery, but Pappas Bros. received top marks for its complete lineup of dishes from appetizers to desserts.

Rounding out the top five are Bouley Restaurant (No. 1) and Le Bernardin (No. 3) in New York City, Alinea (No. 2) in Chicago, and Halls Chophouse (No. 5) in Charleston.
