Day 17
Vibe out with Poolside's West Coast "daytime disco" during SXSW chaos
Mar 3, 2013 | 9:40 pm
Name: Poolside
Featured track: "Slow Down" from Pacific Standard Time
Country/City of origin: Los Angeles
Genre: Nu-disco
In one sentence: "[Pacific Standard Time] is a disco album that slinks along with the urgency of a teenager on the first day of summer vacation." - Pitchfork
Why we chose them: Poolside might be the best band to vibe out to during the chaos that is SXSW. The duo's live shows have been written up by the likes of KEXP as upbeat, feel-good and no more complex than two dudes happy to play their brand of laid back, funky West Coast nu-disco. And that simplicity in showmanship is a good thing — check and and all attitudes at the door of a Poolside show.
SXSW official showcase: Wednesday March 13 (1:30 a.m.) at Red 7
