Why the Chaz Bono backlash is as ridiculous as Kim Kardashian's fame: Get overit, DWTS fans

When the lineup for the latest season of Dancing With the Stars, which starts tonight,was released, the backlash against the inclusion of transgendered contestant Chaz Bono was less surprising, sadly, than it was amusing.
The idea that the son of Sonny and Cher could be so offensive to "family audiences" given the storied personal histories of past contestants seemed a touch ridiculous, and there is nothing that I love more than making the ridiculous look ridiculous.
So, with that in mind, let's take a walk down DWTS memory lane and look at some of the other contestants who've mysteriously caused less stink:
Kim Kardashian — Self-made porn star
Nancy Grace — Pundit widely criticized for allegedly driving a woman to suicide
Bristol Palin — Teen mom, terribly ineffectual abstinence spokeswoman
Kate Gosselin — Exploiter of child labor
Kendra Wilkinson and Holly Madison — Former concubines
Joanna Krupa — Professional naked person
Pamela Anderson — Sex tape star; former playmate; boob wrangler
Tom DeLay — White-collar criminal; birther; disgrace to Texas
David Hasselhoff — Drunk
Tatum O'Neal — Well-publicized off-and-on drug addict
Lil' Kim — Convicted perjurer
Chaz Bono, on the other hand, has no skeletons in his closet past having a vagina — something which, as an aside, I find much less concerning (and more natural) than Lil' Kim's face. And really, who are we to care about his parts?
