Truly all-ages arcade Dave & Buster’s loads game on 2nd Austin location
In late 2023, Austin appears to be having an arcade renaissance, with at least three new projects introduced. Now, a beloved restaurant and entertainment hub is bringing even more fun and games to Austinites this holiday season. Dave & Buster’s is opening its second location in Austin on December 18 in the Southpark Meadows shopping center (9500 S IH35 SB Service Rd.).
For the uninitiated, this arcade and bar chain is technically family-friendly, but is known for drawing adult crowds. Many come in for the bar and snacks, and stay because the arcade floor isn't completely dominated by young children. The new location will be bigger and better with more than 100 new and improved arcade games, a state-of-the-art sports bar, a chef-crafted food menu, and innovative cocktails.
“We are so excited to open a new Dave & Buster’s location in Austin,” said General Manager Yolimar Figueroa in a press release. “As Austin’s premier entertainment attraction, we look forward to hosting the community for major sporting event watch parties on the biggest and best screens, and offering new and classic arcade games and delicious menu items, such as our Backwoods Blueberry Lemonade and Buster’s Bacon Burger.”
Opening day will have live music and a remote radio event for guests of all ages to enjoy the new venue. The fun continues for arcade enthusiasts wanting to try the latest arcade games. Some of those include:
- Zombieland VR: Headshot Fever
- Pac-Man Battle Royale Chompionship
- Wicked Tuna
- Minecraft Dungeons Arcade
- Life-size versions of Hungry Hungry Hippos
Meanwhile, sports fans can enjoy an enhanced watching experience at the bar with more than a dozen oversized HDTVs and a multichannel surround sound system. The bar spices things up with all-you-can-eat wings and specials on power cards —a cashless game access and skip-the-line deal — throughout the week.
High-quality ingredients are the main star of the chef-crafted menu — one of the factors catering to the frequent adult visitors — which of course includes chicken wings in 13 different flavors. Other, less staple choices include garlic parmesan truffle fries, and the crispy Hawaiian chicken sandwich, among many more flavorsome choices.
The new handcrafted cocktails will include margaritas made with 100% agave tequila and fresh ingredients, plus fan favorites like the :Dangerous Waters Island Punch," and a strawberry watermelon margarita with strawberry puree ice cubes.
To continue celebrating the new location, Dave & Buster’s is gifting power cards with unlimited video game play to the first 100 people in line on December 22 from 6-9 pm.
Dave & Buster’s at Southpark will be open Monday through Thursday, 11 am to midnight; Saturday from 10 am to 1 am; and Sunday from 10 am to midnight. For more information, visit daveandbusters.com.
