Shakey Graves Stardom
Hometown hero's Letterman debut slated for next month
What began as innovative acoustic sets on Austin stages is heading to late night television. CultureMap has confirmed that Shakey Graves will make his debut on the Late Show with David Letterman February 13. "We're scheduled to perform on Letterman on that day," confirmed Bodie Johnson of 7S Management.
While Johnson can't reveal more details about the appearance, we do know it's part of a breakout year for this hometown hero. After playing KUTX's second birthday party at the end of January, he will embark on an Australian tour with husband-wife duo Shovels and Rope. Shakey Graves (also known as Alejandro Rose-Garcia) announced earlier this week that he will also play Bonnaroo in June.
We don't know for sure what Shakey Graves will perform for Letterman, but we're placing our money on "Dearly Departed." The single comes from his latest LP, And The War Came, a 10-track album with a more plugged-in, genre-spanning vibe than his pervious releases.
